Fruits and vegetables are the greatest foods found naturally. These foods are like the blessings from heaven. We must eat ample amount of vegetable and fruit daily for our physical and mental betterment. Nothing is better than a healthy life with a lot of vitality. And this vital force of life can be achieved by the proper consumption of healthy foods like fruits and vegetables. Both these foods are very much important for our body fitness, mental happiness and peace of mind. Yes, by following a proper diet we can have these all benefits. And fruits and vegetables play a great role in our diet and these should be included in our daily eating habits.

Types of fruits and their benefits

Fruit is generally the edible part of the plant having fleshy part. Generally these are sweet and tasty and can be eaten raw. From the definition of we can say that the containing, converted ovary of a flowery plant can be referred to as fruits.

Pome fruits

Pomegranate, apples, pears, cotoneasters, hawthorn, medlar, toyon, quince are some of the examples of pome fruits.

These fruits are full of vitamin A, C and E. These also contain good amount of folic acid for you. Some fruits can be used to stop the growth of cancer (e.g. Pomegranate seed oil). They can also suppress the risk of heart attacks. They can help to reduce the high blood pressure by possessing anti-oxidants.

Stone fruits

Peaches, nectarines, prunes, mangoes, lychees, avocados, apricots, plums are stone fruits.

Fruits like peaches and nectarines have a lot of anti oxidants. They produce an extra amount of anti-oxidant when digested. They also contain vitamin C and B3. Prunes of dried plums can give you antioxidant along with strengthening the bones. Mangoes can give you a lot vitamin A.

Tropical fruits

As the name implies tropical fruits are the fruits related to tropics. Bananas, pineapples, papayas, mangoes, guava, coconuts, jackfruits, mamey, akee, cherimoyas rambutans are some example of tropical fruits.

Pineapples are full of vitamins and minerals. It has calcium, potassium and a lot of vitamin C. It is beneficial in fever and cough. It is good source of manganese. Papayas are full of vitamin A phosphorous and a lot of iron. It has great ability of digesting rich foods. Some of the tropical fruits can act as a disinfectant. All the essential sugars are found in bananas. Guava can help in dysentery. It also helps to make the skeletal system better. Coconuts and coconut milk can create a good balance in the natural chemical system of the body.

Citrus fruits

Grapefruit, Tangerine, Clementine, Ugli, Satsuma, Lemon, Pomelo, Oranges and sometimes pineapples, tomatoes can also be mentioned as citrus fruits.

These fruits are full of vitamin C and useful dietary fibers. These fruits can be made juice and can be used as great source of antioxidant. These are useful against flue and cold. They contain a lot of folic acid or folate which are necessary for protein metabolism and amino acid synthesis. Citrus fruits are needed for our overall body care such as skin, heart, digestion eyesight and mental care.

Melon type fruits

Melon fruits are very cheap and effective against disease. Water melons, honey dew melons etc.

These fruits can help you fight against cancer. These can help you get rid of constipation. Heartburn, heart attacks, strokes can be fought by these fruits. These are very helpful in preventing blood clotting.

Berries

Strawberries, Raspberry, huckleberry, cloudberry, wine berry, bilberry, blueberry, barberry, nannyberry, gooseberry and mulberry etc are berry fruits.

These fruits contain big amount of vitamin C. Sometimes strawberries contain more vitamin C than oranges. They also contain flavonoids. And the existing photochemical in berries help to prevent some type of cancers. Some of them contain lutein which is good for health.
